With security in Open Source higher up the political and commercial agenda than it has ever been, many of us in Open Source are relieved to have the opportunity and funding to finally invest in our security infrastructure. Our OSS development and collaboration norms are, however, more difficult to apply to this new development environment, where working collaboratively and in the open must be balanced with rigorous security best practices more often used in a closed environment. This talk will look at the challenges of developing security in the open, and the opportunities that exist to work across ecosystems and organisations to bring a new dimension to security in OSS.
